Features: Kaufman and other economists from the World Bank have recently conducted a remarkable study, compiling data from nearly 100 countries to examine the strengths and weaknesses of government governance structures and compare the impact of government actions on national economic development. The World Bank China office once invited Kaufman to give speeches to Chinese administrative units, academia, and financial media, but it did not generate much response, far from the enthusiastic atmosphere when the "rent-seeking" theory was introduced. "Comparative" aims to provide an academic platform for comparative institutional analysis for its readers. "Comparative" stays at the forefront of theory, selectively introducing the experiences and lessons of other countries, the theories and practices of transition economies, and the developments in comparative research fields, while also targeting specific introductions of theoretical and policy proposals, recommendations, and reviews from domestic and international academia on China's economic reforms.
