Features: World War II was the largest conflict in human history. In this war between the fascist axis powers and the anti-fascist alliance, the number of troops and weaponry deployed, the vast scope of the battlefields, the novelty of combat forms, the scale of losses, and the depth of impact were unprecedented. Nearly 60 years have passed since World War II, and with the passage of time, it remains as magnetically attractive as ever to military strategists and historians from around the world to explore and write about it. The "World Famous Person Picture Album" series, written by a group of young and middle-aged military historians with specialized knowledge, is another significant work in this regard. The series currently includes 15 prominent figures such as "Roosevelt," "Churchill," "Stalin," "Eisenhower," "Patton," "MacArthur," "Montgomery," "Lyaudo," "De Gaulle," "Hitler," "Mussolini," "Goring," "Rommel," "Tojo," and "Yamamoto." It essentially covers representative figures who played decisive roles in both the political and military aspects of the war on both sides.
The current world is undergoing significant changes. The Cold War has ended, and the bipolar has collapsed. For a longer period, it may be possible to avoid a new world war. However, the world is far from a paradise, and the existence of hegemonism and power politics remains the main obstacle to solving issues of peace and development. Therefore, all those concerned with the international situation and future development, all young people with patriotic fervor who aspire to serve their country, and all commanders and soldiers who are about to become or aim to become military leaders should read this series. "A distant mountain's stone can polish jade." It is hoped that this series can provide valuable references for aspiring individuals and a broad readership.
Franklin D. Roosevelt, American politician and strategist, was born into a wealthy family in Hyde Park, New York. He studied at Harvard University and Columbia University from 1900 to 1907. Later, he worked as a lawyer in New York. In 1910, he was elected as a member of the New York State Senate. From 1913 to 1920, he served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. In 1921, he became paralyzed from the waist down due to polio. From 1928 to 1933, he served as Governor of New York. During his tenure, the United States faced a severe economic crisis, and he took measures to establish relief institutions, earning widespread popularity. In November 1932, he was elected President by a landslide vote. Upon taking office in March 1933, Roosevelt implemented the "New Deal," a series of domestic policies focused on relief, reform, and recovery, which played a role in alleviating the economic crisis and promoting economic recovery. In foreign affairs, he improved relations with Latin American countries and established diplomatic ties with the Soviet Union.
