The collation of texts in this work is far superior to the Qian Zuo edition of the Shoushan Pavilion, which relied solely on a single copy from the Chaoyantang Wu family. Additionally, cross-referencing with other books or inter-comparing chapters within the book further enhances its precision. The explanatory section examines the dates of dispatch of documents, supplements relevant historical facts, clarifies inaccuracies in records, and distinguishes between true and false content, with rigorous citations and detailed arguments. It is an invaluable work for the study of Song, Jin, and Liao history. This is indeed a labor of love that the author poured years of effort into.
