Features: In October 1995, the editorial department of "Historical and Cultural Knowledge" and the Religious Research Center of the State Administration for Religious Affairs of the State Council jointly organized an "Islamic Culture Special Issue." The aim was to introduce the unique Islamic culture of China to a broad readership from the perspective of religious culture. The special issue had the following characteristics: 1. It primarily introduced the status of Islam in Chinese history from a cultural rather than a religious perspective. 2. While affirming that Islam retained its original characteristics after entering China, it focused on the process of its integration with traditional Chinese culture. 3. It emphasized the contributions of Islam to the historical development in China. 4. It briefly introduced common knowledge about Islam. After the publication and distribution of the special issue, it received positive feedback from all sectors of society. Many readers who had not purchased the issue requested the editorial department to reprint it to meet their demand. To address this, the editorial department of "Historical and Cultural Knowledge" collaborated again with the Religious Research Center of the State Administration for Religious Affairs of the State Council, supplementing additional content based on the "Islamic Culture Special Issue" to compile the book "Chinese Islamic Culture." The supplementary content in this book more richly reflects the characteristics of Chinese Islamic culture. At the same time, considering the needs of Muslim readers during festivals, we have specially invited relevant experts to compile the "Islamic Festivals and Calendar (1996-2050) Gregorian, Agricultural, and Islamic Lunar)" to be included in the book for easy reference. We believe it will be well-received by a broad readership.
