Features: This set of books is published by Chongqing Publishing House. The compilers are women from three different countries. Mei Ye, a Chinese-American lady, holds a law degree from Fudan University in China and an MBA from the University of North Carolina in the United States. She is currently a consultant for McKinsey & Company in management consulting. Pan Lan, a Chinese-New Zealander lady, has worked in education in China for many years and has extensive experience in aesthetics and art education. She has traveled extensively in Europe and America and deeply feels the differences in quality education and artistic environments between Chinese and foreign children during their growth. Lu Hua, a lady with a literature degree, has worked as an editor in China's mainstream media, and her writing and editing works have won numerous national awards. Whether as professional women in the education industry or as mothers, the three ladies sincerely hope that children can learn more about truth, goodness, and beauty from art, shaping a life of truth, goodness, and beauty through artistic nurturing. When compiling this set of books, they selected 99 famous paintings of different styles and schools, dividing them into nine books based on the themes of the paintings. Next to each painting, interactive columns were designed.
"They Look at Famous Paintings" shows the emotions of children from different countries after viewing the painting, expressed through their unique understanding and language. Their imaginative ideas can either make people laugh or inspire admiration. "I Look at Famous Paintings" provides space for young readers to express their emotions after viewing the paintings. "Knowledge in Paintings" and "Stories in Paintings" compile knowledge and stories related to the famous paintings. "Play While Viewing" offers brain-teasing games. "Look at Famous Paintings and Paint Your Own" encourages children to interact directly with the masters, approaching the paintings with a relaxed mindset and an equal perspective from a young age. By expressing their thoughts through hands-on activities, children are encouraged to break free from any constraints—the more novel and creative, the better the artistic education.
To meet the needs of bilingual learning, the text in the books is presented in both Chinese and English, making them suitable for children who are just beginning to learn English. Experts believe that world-famous paintings, like famous music and literature, are all shining treasures of human spiritual wealth. The brushstrokes express the understanding of artists from different eras about the essence of truth, goodness, and beauty. Each painting is a condensation of the essence of its time, reflecting the cultural soul of individuals, nations, and even entire eras. Therefore, allowing children to immerse themselves in famous paintings and explore the world from them, feeling the breath of the masters through brushstrokes and colors, and being nurtured by art and humanities, lays a solid foundation for them to grow into harmonious, healthy, and life-loving individuals in the future.
