The Jungle Book is a children's work by British poet and novelist Joseph Rudyard Kipling. It consists of five stories that are both independent and interrelated, guiding readers into a magical yet realistic tropical jungle. The stories tell of a child named Mowgli, who is chased by the old tiger Shere Khan in the Seone Mountain and is later saved by wolves, raised by the wolf pack to adulthood. Under the protection and guidance of the wise old bear Baloo and the black panther Bagheera, Mowgli learns the laws of the jungle. However, under the temptation of monkeys, he puts his friends in danger. He correctly uses the jungle authority language he has learned, with the help of other animals, to escape the danger. When driven out by the wolf pack, Mowgli tries to return to the human village and live with humans, but he cannot forget the jungle, his wolf brothers, and life in the jungle. When he kills the long-standing rival tiger Shere Khan and is driven out by humans, he returns to the jungle with a mix of sadness and joy. Throughout this process, he understands the characteristics of the jungle, the physiological and lifestyle habits of the animals, as well as the lifestyle and customs of humans. Through an elephant's whip, he witnesses the human pursuit of wealth. Until he is 17 years old, a mysterious spring impulse drives him to the human world. Kipling uses extraordinary language skills to depict the beautiful nature. He fully explores and showcases the characteristics of the animals, using personification to give them human self-esteem, calm courage, and emotional features like joy, sorrow, anger, and happiness. This descriptive approach opens a new chapter in animal literature.
