Features: The works of Mr. Ba Jin have influenced several generations of readers in the 20th century. In the 21st century, our focus on Ba Jin lies in understanding his thoughts, which requires starting with reading his works. This understanding should not be partial or superficial, and this reading should not fade away with the passing of Mr. Ba Jin's birthday. Based on this, we have planned and published this volume titled "Ba Jin's Truthful Words."
The term "Truthful Words" refers to the selections made by the editor from Mr. Ba Jin's millions of words of works. These are organized into eight parts, each titled with phrases from Mr. Ba Jin's own words, such as "Youth is beautiful," "Not just for oneself," "Conquering life," "I come from China," "Mother taught me to recognize love," "Self-examination," "Speaking the truth," and "Heart-to-heart connection," totaling 200 entries. Though each is just a fragment, they carry depth and coherence, all being sincere self-revelations from the author.
