Through the incident of his uncle's death, he understands his uncle's teaching that "great power comes with great responsibility," and thus dedicates himself to fighting crime. Norman Osborn is a major businessman and scientist in New York. When he discovers that Peter was bitten by a spider and gained superpowers from his Oz gene experiment, he decides to inject Oz into his own body, hoping to gain superpowers as well. However, things go awry, the experiment fails, and he becomes the insane "Green Goblin." He not only destroys his own house and wife but also rampages through Peter's school, causing chaos. At this point, Peter disguises himself as Spider-Man and engages in a fierce battle with the Green Goblin, defeating him and protecting his classmates and school. In this issue, the defeated Green Goblin reappears. Unwilling to accept his defeat, he attempts to harm Peter's family, kidnapping Peter's girlfriend, Mary Jane. Peter quickly arrives and engages in a battle with the Green Goblin, rescuing Mary Jane. With Harry's help, Peter defeats the Green Goblin once again.
