Features: This book introduces the origin, development history, commodity specifications, changes in production areas, plant sources, and reasons for changes of Feng Dou. It also focuses on exploring future development directions. The development of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and herbal medicine, a gem of Chinese cultural and historical heritage, has long relied on natural resources. Currently, we are in an era of global natural resource crisis. If this trend continues, it will severely impact the survival and development of TCM and herbal medicine. How should we address this? Examples such as the early historical "Huo Shan Shi Hu Feng Dou" and "Guang Nan Xi Feng Dou" in China only appeared for a brief moment and disappeared too early, serving as a thought-provoking lesson. In fact, such cases are far from over. With the scientific advancements and developments of the 21st century, we should draw inspiration from past experiences and lessons. We must address endangered species, much like how we solve global food, vegetable, and other economic crop challenges—by combining modern biotechnology and agricultural technology to resolve production issues and pursue sustainable development.
