The China Western not only needs self-reflection and self-improvement, but also needs to open up to the outside world. People in the digital and information age have a deeper understanding of the impact and promotion of life and social development brought by expanding information exchange and promoting diversified interaction. Based on this, after the success of the first competition, the 2nd "Chongqing · China Western Industrial Design Tomorrow Stars Competition" themed "Innovation and Market, Technology and Future" was held in Chongqing in a timely manner and achieved complete success. A total of more than 1,000 works participated in this competition. Regardless of whether they won awards or not, the works presented reflect the creative thinking and practical status of the young industrial design group in the China Western region. The more than 160 winning works and more than 110 selected works convey the value orientation of the competition participants and the expert review committee. The organizers of the competition hope to, through a series of activities of the competition, create a more extensive interactive atmosphere between the social groups and the industrial design industry in the western region, and thereby guide the practitioners of industrial design in the western region to achieve the integration of diversity and characteristics in the practice and creation of industrial design with a scientific development perspective, based on the compatibility of reality and the future. After the award ceremony, the 2004 China Western Industrial Design Forum will be held, where a series of design lectures will be held. The overall trend of China's economy is healthy, and the development of modern new industry is accelerating. At the same time, there are problems such as high input, low output, and unbalanced regional development. Facing the reality intertwined with joy and urgency, challenges and opportunities, the task of eliminating the obstacles of industrial development and promoting the overall development of China's industrial design is a common responsibility of all people in the industrial design field. The works collected in this book reflect, in a snapshot style, the emerging industrial design group in the China Western region, using their practice and exploration to respond to the claims and advocacy of the competition. We hope that the "Exhibition of Excellent Works" can receive responses and corrections from people both at home and abroad who are concerned about the cause of industrial design, and promote each other on the future innovative path of China's industrial design, with the hope of mutual encouragement.
