Features: At thirty-six, Ke Yalin had become penniless overnight. The divorce from Zuo Ling not only deprived him of his wife and children but also of his car and house. It could be said that even as of this afternoon, he had not yet fully mentally prepared for this event. After work, when everyone else had left the company, Ke Yalin was the last one to leave. He tidied up the scattered magazines on the desk, arranged them neatly on the bookshelves according to category, checked which computers were still on, sprinkled some fish food into the fish tank, and watered the plants. In other words, his entire job consisted of dealing with clients—spending countless hours with them, catering to the bigwigs to ensure his top priority was keeping them happy. In today's business circles, there were indeed some who lived like hermit crabs, surviving solely on client relationships. No matter the industry, if you did well with clients, you controlled everything and thrived.
The wall clock on the wall pointed to ten o'clock. He gave one last look around, confirmed that everything was in order, turned off the lights, locked the door, and entered the elevator at the stairwell on the sixth floor of the office building.
