Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is compiled by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" and is now reprinted and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. On this occasion of the reedition, sincere thanks are extended to millions of readers across the country. Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (briefly referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are one of the most extensive, widely participated in, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential secondary school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness, which are precisely the core content of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on years of careful study of this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology, totaling over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but higher than them. Derived from textbooks means it is written in accordance with the new [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education, while being higher means it closely aligns with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements. It aims to cultivate interest, develop intelligence, and enhance abilities.
2. Accurate: Scientifically accurate and structurally rational. Each book is designed hierarchically based on the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step principle, providing in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. New: The questions selected are novel, unique, and highly engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiads and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Refined: Selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on generalizing from specific cases and applying knowledge to different contexts; it emphasizes multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches to problems, prioritizing the training of thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: A gathering of famous teachers and a collection of famous competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited distinguished professors from prestigious universities, elite teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and renowned Olympic medal coaches to contribute.
