Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is organized by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or complete rewrites, it has been renamed as "Gold Medal Olympiads" and "Gold Medal Schools" series, and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. At this re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country. The Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (briefly referred to as Subject Olympiads) are one of the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from and extended from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—qualities that are precisely at the core of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on years of careful research on this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to write and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology, totaling over 200 varieties. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally and hold the greatest charm in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The writing purpose and characteristics of the "Gold Medal Olympiads" and "Gold Medal Schools" series are as follows:
High: Derived from textbooks but also surpassing them. Derived from textbooks means it is written in accordance with the new [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education, while surpassing them means it is closely aligned with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and skill requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing abilities.
Accurate: Scientifically precise and structurally sound. Each book is designed hierarchically based on the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step approach to provide in-depth yet accessible analysis and detailed problem-solving methods.
Fresh: The questions selected are novel, unique, and highly engaging. They compile the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
Refined: Carefully selected examples that are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on generalizing from one example to many, making connections across different problems, and encouraging multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches. It emphasizes training thinking skills without resorting to rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
Renowned: A gathering of famous teachers and a collection of prestigious competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited renowned professors from top universities, distinguished teachers from key secondary schools, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to contribute.
