Features: Huanggang High School in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was founded in 1904. It became a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school on virtue," forming a distinctive approach to nurturing students that emphasizes "comprehensive development with special talents." It has developed a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, refinement, uniqueness, and innovation." The outstanding achievements in college entrance exams and competitions are the inevitable results of its long-term implementation of quality education, and only one aspect of its abundant teaching accomplishments. When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the of the college entrance exams and passively prepares for exams is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test setters and deeply grasp the underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower. Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and monotonous exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of solving them. If Huanggang High School has any other successes, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged a strong team of teachers, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic skills, and abundant teaching achievements. To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized the school's frontline core teachers to meticulously plan and compile three series of books: 《Huanggang High School Homework Books》, 《Huanggang High School Exam Papers》, and 《Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions》. The 《Huanggang High School 2006 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions》 series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in open-ended or conventional problem types, the quantity and difficulty of the questions are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality. Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of the college entrance exams, we have positioned the first-round training questions as unit exercises, the second-round training questions as thematic exercises, and the third-round training questions as simulated tests, providing a comprehensive and progressive solution to the problems students encounter during the three-round review process. Part of the content of this series is derived from internal use materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part is newly supplemented based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions, now compiled and published for the first time. This series also reflects the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate problem positioning: In terms of problem arrangement, this series focuses on consolidating and improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods related to the exam content, gradually approaching the level of the college entrance exams in terms of complexity and comprehensiveness.
2. Detailed problem-solving hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough solutions provided for difficult problems. The timely and insightful hints scattered throughout the series often play a pivotal role. This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' problems, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
