Features: To meet the needs of higher normal universities' geography departments and other relevant majors in various institutions for offering courses in World Economic Geography, this textbook was developed under the commission of the former State Education Commission. The original edition was published by Beijing Normal University Press in 1984 and underwent two major revisions in 1989 and 1993, resulting in two revised editions. Due to the requirements of educational reform, changes in the international situation, the rapid development of the global economy, and especially the explosive growth of high technology and the information industry, the world is undergoing significant transformations. Therefore, the World Economic Geography textbook was completely rewritten to reflect these new developments and changes. The new edition has been substantially streamlined, placing greater emphasis on key countries, regions, and issues. In terms of disciplinary characteristics, it highlights the industrial layout, economic regional features, and their development changes across countries and regions, striving to reflect the new developments and features of world economic geography. The new textbook strengthens the general introduction, particularly by expanding discussions on the development of the service sector. The textbook is divided into eleven chapters: the first three chapters cover the general introduction, chapters four to ten discuss specific topics, and the last chapter focuses on the world's oceans. The content is designed to be systematic and highlight key points, aiming for relative stability. However, given the frequent changes in the international situation, users of this textbook should supplement and revise its content as needed.
