Features: Film and television art is a young art form. It has become one of the most widely disseminated modern art media through the use of modern science and technology. Without the invention of electricity and the development of light waves and sound waves, film and television art would not exist. At the same time, film and television art is also a product of modern industry, and its development is inseparable from the operation of industrial systems. Therefore, it is a new type of art that differs from any ancient art form. To study film and television art, one must start from its nature, understand its basic characteristics, and master its fundamental laws. Only in this way can one truly recognize film and television art and engage in research, teaching, and creation in this field. Film and television are products of technology and industry; however, the generation process of film and television art is not merely a history of modern technological development but also a crystallization of the accumulation of human artistic development. Ancient China had art forms such as lantern shadows, shadow puppets, and marionettes, which reflected people's desire for moving images. Classical Chinese drama, poetry, and painting often employed techniques such as object representation, long shots, medium shots, and scene composition, providing aesthetic inspiration for the birth and development of film and television art. Of course, limited by social structures and technological levels, the feudal society based on agricultural civilization could not have produced film and television art.
