Listening to the breathtaking live performances and reflecting on Chen Xi's genuine artistic path, long shrouded in the halo of a "genius violinist," will leave audiences with far more than just admiration. "I simply love the violin and consider it a lifelong career."--Chen Xi once said. Chen Xi began learning the violin at a young age, demonstrating exceptional musical talent. In 1995, he entered the Central Conservatory of Music and studied under professors Zhao Wei and Suo Keqiang. By 1999, he became a student of Professor Lin Yaoji, making rapid progress. In 2000, he won fifth place in the junior division of the 8th Wieniawski Competition, followed by numerous awards both in China and internationally. In 2001, he collaborated with the Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra. At just 16, Chen Xi successfully performed Ravel's "Tzigane," causing a sensation. He has since performed over 50 times with orchestras in China and around the world. At the 12th Tchaikovsky International Competition in 2002, Chen Xi stood out among 47 competitors with his passionate and dynamic performances, as well as his profound understanding of the piece's rich musicality, winning the silver medal (the gold was not awarded). He became the youngest winner of the competition's highest award since its inception. Chen Xi's playing is pure, sincere, and full of passion, with a strong sense of melody and musical expression. His ever-maturing stage presence and artistic refinement give his performances a rare stability that transcends his age, revealing glimpses of a masterful demeanor. The British magazine "Strad" once described Chen Xi as "a highly individualistic and brilliant musician," praising him as undoubtedly becoming "a rising star on the world classical music stage."
