Publish Date: 2005-03-01
Features: This book contains tools for analyzing and designing discrete system signal processing. It is suitable for a two-semester course in digital signal processing and is intended for senior undergraduate students or first-year graduate students. It can also be used for self-study by engineering and technical personnel. Key Features: The book uses numerous MATLAB-based examples throughout to demonstrate MATLAB's capability in solving signal processing problems. It includes up to 100 MATLAB programs and over 150 MATLAB exercises. The book contains many practical examples to help students understand real-world signal processing problems. The book emphasizes mastering concepts and tools rather than mathematical derivations. It highlights simple but practical applications. The final chapter is dedicated to exploring important applications of DSP. The book covers several key topics, including digital filter structures, analysis of finite-word-length effects, and multirate DSP, among others.
Companion Experiment Guide: The book is accompanied by an experiment guide——《Experiment Guide for Digital Signal Processing (MATLAB Version)》, which was also published by the Electronics Industry Press in January 2005. This guide is used for computer-based DSP experiment courses and serves as a supplement to the book.
Sanjit K. Mitra: He received his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an Honorary Doctorate in Technology from Tampere University of Technology, Finland. Dr. Mitra has been affiliated with AT&T Bell Labs at Cornell University, the University of California, Davis, and the University of California, Santa Barbara (as a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering). Dr. Mitra has published over 500 journal and conference papers, authored 11 books, and holds 5 patents. Since 1986, he has served as the President of the Circuits and Systems Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has received numerous prestigious industrial and academic awards. Additionally, he is a member of the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, the IEEE, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Optical Society of America (OSA), and the European Association for Signal, Speech, and Image Processing (EUSIPRAS) and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
