Features: The task of education and teaching is realized through the joint activities of teachers and students in the educational process. The objectives, content, methods, and approaches of teaching activities are closely linked. As an important method and approach in teaching activities, teaching media have evolved with the advancement of science and technology. Throughout history, it has experienced two major leaps. The first major leap occurred around a thousand years ago (1041–1048) when Bi Sheng invented the movable-type printing technology. The emergence of the book as a medium greatly advanced education, leading to Comenius's class-based teaching and the widespread education of today. The second major leap began in the 1990s with the application of computer-based modern educational technology, bringing a revolutionary change to educational media. It serves as a crucial means to achieve educational modernization, and the modernization of education will undoubtedly promote the arrival of the knowledge economy era.
Yucai School was founded in Yan'an in 1937 and is a school with a glorious revolutionary tradition. After more than 60 years of educational practice, it has developed a comprehensive set of educational philosophies. Its educational philosophy is: "Promote the glorious tradition of Yucai and implement modern advanced education." We believe that in the face of international competition in the 21st century, the key lies in cultivating high-quality talents—innovative individuals with modern awareness, creativity, and practical abilities. Based on this understanding, our school relatively early engaged in audio-visual education, which has now spanned nearly two decades. In 1989, our school was recognized by the Beijing Audio-Visual Education Museum as the "Floral School of Audio-Visual Education"; in 1998, it was identified by the Ministry of Education as a pilot school for modern educational technology.
The application of modern educational technology must be integrated with the school's educational research. From the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" to the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan," our school participated in the provincial and ministerial-level key educational research project "Theoretical Research and Teaching Experiment on Developing Imaginative Thinking." Through this project, we studied theories related to brain science and the two types of thinking (abstract and imaginative thinking). This enabled our teaching in all subjects to scientifically apply modern educational technology and correctly combine it with traditional media. As a result, the monotonous, abstract, and dull classroom teaching has transformed into a vivid and dynamic new teaching environment characterized by rich color, harmonious scenes, and a balance of movement and stillness. This has optimized the teaching process and improved both teaching quality and efficiency.
