Features: The most practical feature of this dictionary is the labeling of vocabulary, which helps readers easily identify which words are essential for beginners to master and which ones have appeared in middle school textbooks. Additionally, phrases and classified vocabulary are listed separately for convenient learning and use. It is an ideal reference tool for upper elementary, junior high, and high school students in China, English teachers, as well as self-learners with intermediate or advanced English proficiency. The main content of the dictionary is divided into three parts: words, phrases, and classified vocabulary.
Part 1 includes over 5,700 English words. Words without symbols before their entries generally belong to the vocabulary that intermediate English learners should master. A certain number of synonyms are listed in the definitions, marked with [synonym...], for readers to compare and distinguish. The differences in word usage, pronunciation, spelling, and meaning between American English and British English, which are increasingly emphasized in China's English academic circles, are clearly indicated.
Part 2 contains over 2,000 common phrases, arranged alphabetically by the first word of each phrase. The headword of the phrase is printed in bold. Synonyms or synonymous phrases of the phrase are listed in the definition with [=...].
Part 3 includes classified vocabulary, totaling 26 categories, covering most of the vocabulary from primary and secondary school English textbooks and review syllabi, along with a selection of supplementary words. This section is available for readers to further check and memorize.
