Features: The judicial examination is a professional qualification exam that primarily assesses the breadth and accuracy of legal knowledge. This characteristic determines that the exam content must mainly revolve around mandatory laws and regulations. The judicial examination changes every year, but the essence remains the same—the mandatory laws and regulations are the "core" of the exam. Many candidates recognize this point, but they have not mastered the correct method of studying with legal provisions as the center. In many cases, after reviewing the legal provisions, they don’t know from which aspects to understand the meaning of the provisions, nor do they know the exam points or the focus and angles of the questions. As a result, they lament that simply reviewing legal provisions is not very effective. Based on comprehensive research, analysis, and the practical experience of numerous successful candidates, this book provides candidates with a legal-provision-centered review method for the judicial examination, which is believed to offer practical and effective help. The greatest feature of this book is its four-in-one approach—legal provisions, question focus, past exam questions, and intensive mock questions—to comprehensively understand and master the key points, difficulties, and question-setting logic of the judicial examination, truly making it a "one-stop" guide.
1. About Legal Provisions: This book ensures the completeness of the main laws while emphasizing key provisions. It also incorporates relevant judicial interpretations based on the designated "Compendium of Mandatory Laws and Regulations for the Judicial Examination," interweaving them with the legal provisions related to each knowledge point. For example, under the crime of theft, after Article 264 of the Criminal Code, it lists Article 265, Paragraph 1 of Article 210, Paragraph 2 of Article 253, and Paragraph 3 of Article 196 of the Criminal Code as provisions related to theft. Additionally, judicial interpretations concerning theft and corresponding provisions from other judicial interpretations related to theft are included under the theft knowledge point. This ensures that the legal provisions and judicial interpretations related to theft are very comprehensive and easy to grasp, which is highly beneficial for the exam.
2. About Question Focus: This book statistically analyzes the annual exam points and their corresponding scores for each department and chapter. It then analyzes the exam points, question focus, and angles of important provisions. For a key legal provision, it breaks down the one or more exam points it covers and analyzes them, identifying the question focus. This approach allows candidates to grasp the content of the provision from multiple angles while understanding the question-setting perspective, truly improving their exam performance.
3. About Past Exam Questions: While analyzing the exam points and question focus for each provision, this book also displays the relevant past exam questions and their answers. Based on the main exam points involved in each question, it categorizes them under the corresponding exam point analysis, visually reflecting the importance of the knowledge point and its past exam trends. More importantly, it helps candidates understand the knowledge point through questions, mastering its exam focus and potential question-setting methods. It’s worth mentioning the role of past exam questions. Just as authentic TOEFL exam questions are crucial for preparing for the TOEFL exam, past judicial examination questions are equally important for reviewing and preparing for the judicial examination. Studying past exam questions not only helps master the exam’s key points and trends but also allows for a deeper understanding of legal provisions. Additionally, the repetition of questions in the judicial examination is an objective reality—some questions are direct reproductions of previous ones, while others are merely slight modifications. This can be clearly seen through the summary of past exam questions in this book.
4. About Intensive Mock Questions: Referencing the requirements and characteristics of the judicial examination, this book develops intensive mock questions for key legal provisions, especially those that have not yet been tested. Through targeted and repeated practice, it aims to deepen candidates’ understanding and comprehensive mastery of the provisions.
5. About the Authors: All the authors of this book are Ph.D. holders in relevant departmental law and have all passed the judicial examination with high scores, possessing systematic success experience and judicial examination tutoring experience.
6. About the Writing Approach: The writing approach of this book was inspired by Mr. Liu Yi’s works on breaking through bottlenecks and strengthening the memorization of English vocabulary, which have proven highly effective in the National English Proficiency Test (CET) and TOEFL/IELTS exams. Successful experiences tell us that legal provisions for the judicial examination are like vocabulary for English exams—both share significant similarities. We hope this book will help all candidates achieve their goals.
