This series is a self-study guide meticulously compiled for candidates taking the 2006 National MBA Entrance Exam. It has been completely revised based on the new syllabus after summarizing the previous five editions.
To create more opportunities for experienced professionals or outstanding talents with management potential, the 2005 National MBA Advisory Committee decided to reform the previous exam scheme by replacing the single-subject exams of Mathematics, Chinese, and Logic with a Comprehensive Ability Test, further strengthening the weight of interviews in the admission process. The results of this reform have shown certain effectiveness. However, given the current situation in China, such reforms can only be gradual. While the characteristics of MBA training models suggest that admission should adopt more subjective and flexible methods, focusing more on candidates' management background, achievements, and qualifications, the principle of fairness, impartiality, and openness must be upheld in China's current context. The Ministry of Education stipulates that candidates must meet a certain score threshold, determined by the exam results and the total number of enrolled students, to qualify for the interview. Therefore, the written exam results will continue to play a significant role in admissions for a considerable period, especially for candidates with years of work experience. This is the broader background behind Fudan University Press's annual publication of such review materials.
Over the past six years, Fudan University Press has adhered to the following principles in organizing the writing of the "300 Miracles of the MBA Entrance Exam" series to produce high-quality books:
1. Joint Effort by Tsinghua, Fudan, and Peking Universities, Optimizing the Strengths of Both Northern and Southern Regions
Since MBA candidates have worked for many years and many are studying while employed, it is difficult for them to dedicate sufficient time to specialized preparation. Therefore, Fudan University Press began in 1999 to meticulously organize experienced teachers to write a targeted and self-study-friendly review series. After rigorous market testing, the "300 Miracles of the MBA Entrance Exam" series has been well-received by candidates and has remained consistently popular for five years, now becoming a leading brand in MBA exam preparation books. Its popularity stems from its commitment to quality and its distinctive feature of combining the strengths of northern and southern top universities. The management schools of Tsinghua, Peking, and Fudan Universities are among the best in China, and their MBA entrance exams rank among the top nationally. The authors of this series have mostly participated in MBA entrance exam tutoring programs at these prestigious universities for many years. With a candidate-centered and responsible attitude, they meticulously wrote the materials, which were then carefully reviewed and edited by Fudan University Press, ensuring the full integration of northern and southern strengths.
2. Led by Professors and Joined by Renowned Teachers, Forming a Golden Combination of Writers
A good exam preparation textbook must meet three criteria: first, whether it focuses on serving candidates' preparation needs; second, whether it is forward-looking and addresses future exams; and third, whether it aligns with the new syllabus, with difficulty matching or slightly exceeding the exam papers. The authors of this series meet these requirements, aiming to help candidates master all the content through explanations of basic knowledge, answer techniques, practice methods, and concentrated exercises. The authors include both academically accomplished experts and experienced tutoring teachers. They have participated in pre-exam tutoring at prestigious universities like Peking and Tsinghua for consecutive years, possessing a deep understanding of the exam syllabus and substantial teaching experience. They hope to share their expertise with more candidates through this series, benefiting all who use it.
3. Fully Aligned with the New Syllabus, Offering a Comprehensive Solution for the MBA Entrance Exam
The series strictly follows the new syllabus each year and is promptly revised based on changes. In terms of format, the authors carefully designed the structure. Instead of following the exam content order like other reference books, they innovatively divided each subject into three parts: "Strategy," "In-depth Explanation," and "Practice." In the "Strategy" section, they introduce practical study and preparation strategies for achieving high scores in the exam, as well as predictions for future exams. The "In-depth Explanation" section focuses on teaching basic knowledge and skills, with frequent analyses of past exam questions. The "Practice" section introduces the concept of "focused practice," discouraging unrealistic "sea of questions" tactics. Instead, based on statistical analysis of past questions and future question-setting trends, the authors meticulously designed targeted mock questions that align with the direction of future exams, serving as effective tools for candidates to test their preparation and familiarize themselves with the exam process. The difficulty level of the exercises is intentionally "moderately challenging" to ensure candidates are well-prepared and to address the current gap between the difficulty of various review materials and actual exam questions.
Given that the series is written with the guiding principle of "serving candidates, in-depth study and practice; full-simulation, moderately challenging," and that it condenses years of accumulated teaching and exam-setting experience from recent seven years of MBA entrance exams, it is not only suitable as a teaching material for pre-exam tutoring but also as a self-study guide for all candidates. Through reading and practicing this series, the authors sincerely hope to provide significant assistance to candidates.
