Features: The purpose of compiling this dictionary is to follow the language cognitive model of primary school students and the regularity of mother tongue learning, enabling young readers to learn English progressively and achieve synchronized improvement in language and knowledge. To help primary school students master English words more easily, Teacher He Xin from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts was specially invited to illustrate this dictionary, making the pages more lively while providing students with a visual sense of the words they are learning. This dictionary includes over 1,000 common English words, slightly exceeding the vocabulary requirements set by the Ministry of Education, with the additional words being those frequently encountered in daily life by primary school students. In terms of example sentences, they are chosen based on the cognitive level of primary school students, featuring relatively common sentences with simple sentence structures that align with their daily understanding. The vocabulary is kept simple, and the descriptions are concise. The translations strive for accuracy while being brief and general. Some content may even seem repetitive and overly detailed from an adult perspective. However, this is precisely the necessary path for primary school students to learn a language.
