His calligraphy was influenced by Xue Ji, with a style that was elegant and graceful. The Lingfei Jing is his representative work. This piece is a famous model for small regular script. The original manuscript was acquired by Dong Qichang during the Ming Dynasty. Later, Chen Yuanrui of Haijing had it engraved into the "Bohai Zhenzhen Tie." Yang Shoujing praised it in "Xue Shu Er Yan" as follows: "All the works in the 'Bohai Zhenzhen Tie' were engraved with black ink, among which the Lingfei Jing volume is particularly exquisite and vigorous, highly valued by the world." This volume has the characters "Zhai Shi" intact, and it is the first edition of the "Bohai Zhenzhen Tie" collected by Mr. Qi Gong. It is now published in a photolithographic edition for the reference and practice of calligraphy enthusiasts.
