China's Anti-Japanese War was an extremely important part of the World Anti-Fascist War. China was the earliest country to resist the fascist aggression of the world, the longest in duration, suffered the most severe casualties, and incurred the greatest losses. China's Anti-Japanese War was not only a just anti-invasion war fought by the Chinese people to safeguard national sovereignty and ethnic dignity but also provided strong support to the European and Pacific theaters, completely disrupting Japan's militarist plan to dominate the world. More importantly, through immense national sacrifices, the Chinese people firmly tied nearly 70% of Japan's fascist forces to the Chinese battlefield, preventing them from reinforcing the Far East and Pacific regions and significantly easing the pressure on Allied forces. The Chinese battlefield became the main theater of the Eastern Front and made great contributions to the World Anti-Fascist War.
The series "Witnessing 1945" reflects some of the major events surrounding the victory and early post-war period through detailed historical records and accessible writing. From it, we can realize that only by understanding how hard-won victory was can we cherish today's peaceful life even more. We believe that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people will surely achieve the historic task of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and fulfill the noble cause of promoting world peace and development.
