Features: Huangguoshu Waterfall is a karst-type waterfall, formed by the erosion and dissolution of water flow. It has created a world-renowned and 134-meter-deep waterfall grotto within the waterfall's cliff, providing evidence for the Water Curtain Cave in the ancient Chinese myth "Journey to the West." Here, people can have a face-to-face conversation with the waterfall, kiss it, and experience the majestic and powerful Yang energy, as well as the ever-renewing call of life. Without a doubt, the person who discovered Huangguoshu Waterfall and introduced it to the world through literature should be the great 17th-century Chinese geographer, traveler, and travel writer Xu Xiake. In the spring of the 11th year of the Chongzhen era, Xu Xiake accidentally discovered this marvel on the White Water River while studying the Beipan River, only to find that it also had an entire family of waterfalls. Centered around Huangguoshu Waterfall, the White Water River basin is home to 18 waterfalls of varying sizes and beauty, collectively known as "Three Great Steps, Nine Drops, and Eighteen Flying Waterfalls." Thus, it is no exaggeration to call Huangguoshu the "Hometown of Chinese Waterfalls." If Huangguoshu were merely a cluster of waterfalls, as a national scenic area, it would still lack diversity. On the contrary, Huangguoshu, this peerless beauty, is not isolated or self-pitying. The Beipan River system of the Guizhou Plateau, centered around the White Water River and embracing several other tributaries such as the Wang'er River, Balin River, Sancha River, and Dabang River, nearly encompasses all types of natural landscapes. For example, the Tianxing Bridge Rock Forest, with its miniature landscapes carved into underground streams, is a natural maze crafted by the hands of the gods. At the foot of Lotus Peak, two of the world's shortest headless and tailless rivers flow out, with hidden wonders like the Guanyin Cave and the Dragon Palace. The Langong Bouyei Village; the Shitou Village, known as the hometown of Guizhou batik, with its unique ethnic costumes, distinctive residential architecture, and time-honored ethnic customs; as well as the Tunpu culture preserved in the Xixiu District, Pingba County, and Zhenning County of Anshun City, with its six-century-old Ming Dynasty heritage, all form a series of dreamlike folk scrolls filled with poetic charm.
Huangguoshu, a distant story. Huangguoshu, a beautiful legend.
