Features: Huangguoshu Waterfall is a karst-type waterfall, formed by the erosion and dissolution of water flow. It has created a world-rare and 134-meter-long waterfall grotto within the waterfall's cliff, providing evidence for the Water Curtain Cave in the ancient Chinese myth "Journey to the West." Here, people can have a face-to-face conversation with the waterfall, kiss it, and experience the majestic and powerful Yang energy, as well as the ever-renewing call of life. Without a doubt, the person who discovered Huangguoshu Waterfall and introduced it to the world through literature should be Xu Xiake, the greatest geographer, traveler, and travel writer in late Ming Dynasty Chinese history. In the spring of the 11th year of the Chongzhen era, Xu Xiake, while studying the Beipan River, accidentally discovered this wonder on the White Water River, only to find that it also had an entire family of waterfalls. Centered around Huangguoshu Waterfall, the White Water River basin is home to 18 waterfalls of varying sizes and beauty, collectively known as "Three Great Stages, Nine Drops, and Eighteen Flying Waterfalls." Thus, it is no exaggeration to say that Huangguoshu is truly the "Hometown of Chinese Waterfalls."
If Huangguoshu were merely a cluster of waterfalls, as a national-level scenic area, it would still lack diversity. On the contrary, Huangguoshu, this peerless beauty, is not isolated or self-pitying. The Beipan River system of the Guizhou Plateau, centered around the White Water River and embracing several other rivers such as Wang'er River, Balin River, Sancha River, and Dabang River, nearly encompasses all types of natural landscapes. For example, the Tianxing Bridge, perched above the underground river, is a natural maze crafted by the hands of the gods. At the foot of the Lotus Peak, two of the world's shortest headless and tailless rivers flow out, with the upper and lower reaches hiding the two spectacular grottoes of Guanyin Cave and Dragon Palace. The Langong Bouyei Village; the Shitou Village, known as the hometown of Guizhou batik, with its unique ethnic costumes, distinctive residential architecture, and primitive ethnic customs; as well as the Tunpu in Xixiu District, Pingba County, and Zhenning County of Anshun City, which preserves a unique-style heritage with a history of 600 years, all form a series of dreamlike folk scrolls full of poetic charm.
Huangguoshu, a distant story. Huangguoshu, a beautiful legend.
