Features: Learn from history to explore the laws of strong nation development; seize opportunities to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This series of books is compiled based on the lecture notes by Professor Qi Shiren and Professor Qian Chengdan on "A Study of the Development of Major Countries in the World Since the 15th Century" delivered during the 9th collective learning session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. The book reveals the secrets of the rise of major powers in the world since modern times, particularly Japan. By tracing its development journey and exploring the laws of its rise and fall, it provides historical lessons for the Chinese people. The rapid rise and sudden fall of the Japanese Empire were characterized by many peculiarities, inseparable from the unique historical development and traditions of Japan. Some of the reasons for the rapid rise of the Japanese Empire were also the reasons for its sudden fall, including the duality of its historical traditions, which played entirely different roles in different historical eras. The lessons from the rise and fall of the Japanese Empire hold great value and are worth learning from, though most are primarily relevant to Japan. However, they can still serve as references to some extent. Moreover, through this history of rise and fall, we can better understand Japan, which is one of the purposes of writing this book.
