Features: This book compiles a selection of the author's economic papers published over the past 25 years. It strives to highlight the scientific and innovative spirit of Marxism. The content covers: new interpretations of the research objects, categories, and theoretical systems of political economy; suggestions for the prosperity and development of theoretical economics; scientific arguments on issues of economic development, structural adjustment, and reproduction; and debates on socialist commodity, value, ownership, property rights, and reform. The author believes that China's economic reform must be guided by Marxism, must adhere to the socialist direction and path, and must ensure the leading role of the working class. Both the market economy and the shareholding system have distinctions between socialism and capitalism. Socialism's shareholding system should be an advancement and transcendence of capitalism's shareholding system. The author also proposes bold ideas, suggestions, and countermeasures on how to overcome the contradiction between wealth as social wealth and as personal wealth, by using social public capital as a link, basing the standard on the average capital per worker in labor collectives, and through the state and society investing labor as shareholders in enterprises. This aims to construct a modern enterprise system with a truly socialist characteristic for China, thereby building a unified socialist market economy with a public ownership foundation.
