Features: Zhu Dongrun--------------------------------------------------------------------------------(1896～) was a native of Taixing, Jiangsu, and a renowned Chinese biographer in China. In 1901, he entered a private academy and, after the abolition of the imperial examination system, studied at the preparatory class of the local senior primary school. At the age of eleven, he moved to Shanghai and joined the second grade of the affiliated senior primary school of Nanyang Public School, where he was exposed to the of the New Democratic Revolution. Under the encouragement of Principal Tang Wenhui, his writing skills improved significantly. In his early twenties, he began his career in education and taught foreign languages at Wuhan National University in 1929. Professor Wen Yiduo served as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, and to improve the struggling Chinese Department, he invited Zhu to teach the course "History of Chinese Literary Criticism." After preparing for a year, he wrote "Outline of the History of Chinese Literary Criticism." After the liberation, he became a professor and department head at the Chinese Department of Fudan University, and subsequently published works such as "Studies on Lu You."
