Features: This book collects calligraphy works from the Shang and Zhou dynasties to the contemporary era, totaling over one hundred volumes. The volumes are divided into two major categories: 1. Chronological volumes; 2. Calligrapher volumes. Each volume is organized into ten sections, with additional sections for seal carving, essays, appendices, and supplements. The chronological volumes include works such as oracle bone inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, bamboo slips, silk documents, pottery and brick inscriptions, stele inscriptions, carved stones, cliff carvings, sculptures, and Buddhist scriptures. These works are classified and organized by chronological period. The calligrapher volumes are divided into three types: Class A volumes feature works by a single calligrapher, Class B volumes feature works by two to four calligraphers, and Class C volumes feature works by multiple calligraphers or a collective effort within a specific chronological period. The table of contents for each volume, except for the preface and general index, is arranged according to the two types of volume organization. The chronological volumes include: original color illustrations of artifacts or selected pages, general introductions and specialized discussions, plate illustrations, plate annotations, original color calligraphy albums or selected pages, calligrapher biographies and specialized discussions, chronological calligraphy introductions, plate illustrations, plate illustrations, plate annotations, selected calligrapher essays, calligrapher movement diagrams, main reference bibliographies, and plate index. The diagrams in each volume are based on the "Historical Atlas of China" edited by Tan Qiqi and others. The book is entirely printed in traditional characters to avoid confusion between ancient and modern scripts.
