Features: The global spread of the 2003 outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) served as a wake-up call. As socio-economy and cultural standards rapidly develop, while advancing the second health revolution to control chronic non-communicable diseases, the prevention and control of communicable diseases remain an indispensable and strengthening long-term task in public health disease prevention and control. To master knowledge of communicable disease prevention and control and better implement control measures, based on the practical needs of daily life, we have organized some experts in communicable disease management and disciplines to compile the book "Prevention and Control of Common Communicable Diseases in the North." The writing principles of this book focus on common communicable diseases in the northern region, classified into six categories by pathogen, covering over forty diseases. At the same time, it also incorporates the popularization of newly discovered communicable diseases worldwide, including seven newly identified disease species, in order to contribute to the prevention and control of communicable diseases in the northern region.
