Flat-roofed Miscellaneous Writings

Author: Xia Ganjun

Publishing Date: 2005-05-01
Features: The author collected some of the written texts and printed them into a book called "Miscellaneous Writings from Pingwu." Since the ancestral home was sold, I have not had my own house to live in. The construction of the small houses in Baima Lake can be considered one of the most memorable events in my life. Most of the texts collected in this book were not written in the Pingwu house, but they are mostly from after its completion. The earliest ones date back to the 10th year of the Republic of China, which was the year the Pingwu house was built. In terms of the nature of the texts, there are reviews, novels, and essays. Each type has a small volume, and they are all rather mediocre—reviews don't resemble reviews, novels don't resemble novels, and essays don't resemble essays. Recently, someone coined a new term "miscellany" to describe mediocre works, and I feel that my writings are perfectly suited to be called a miscellany. Therefore, I chose this title for the book.
