Features: After years of effort, this book has finally been published, fulfilling a long-standing wish. During the three years from manuscript collection to publication, the book underwent numerous changes. Initially, the plan was to edit a series of "Annual Publications on the History of Factories in the North China Region," but under the current evaluation system, such a collection in the form of an essay series is often overlooked because it is not considered a "core journal." We could not guarantee a high-quality manuscript pool, making it impossible to realize the initial plan. Nevertheless, the publication of this book can still be seen as our efforts in the field of modern North China regional social history.
