Features: Bi Shumin is a book that is clear, healthy, and vibrant. She lives among ordinary people, showing readers the daily lives of contemporary common folk. Reading her books often leaves a lingering impression, as if the echoes linger for days after closing the cover. Her essays not only depict the lives of ordinary people but also delve into their psychology and the philosophy of life, which is the unique charm of her writing. Bi Shumin, originally from Shandong, was born in Yining, Xinjiang, in 1952 and attended the Affiliated School of Beijing Foreign Language University. At the age of 17, she served in the Ali region of Tibet for 11 years as a soldier, holding positions as a health aide, assistant military doctor, and military doctor. In 1980, she transferred to Beijing and became a writer for the China Nonferrous Metals Corporation in 1990. She is a National First-Class Writer, Vice President of the Writers' Association of China, a practicing physician in internal medicine, a Master of Culture from Beijing Normal University, and a graduate of the doctoral program in psychology at Beijing Normal University. She has written eight volumes of collected works titled "Bi Shumin's Collected Works," as well as the novels "Red Prescription," "Precious Blood," and "Saving the Breasts." In the lively yet literary scene, she seems to belong to no particular school, as if she has emerged from a 5,000-year cultural tradition, yet she is not a revival of traditional culture. Her essays present the seemingly ordinary things of daily life as aesthetic subjects, turning everyday experiences into things of great interest. This unadorned writing style captures a realm that the Song Dynasty scholars admired—simplicity with profound depth. In January 2002, "Red Prescription" was published; in March 2003, "Precious Blood"; in June 2003, "Saving the Breasts"; in October 2003, "Purple Figure"; and in September 2004, "Working Women."
