Publish Date: 2003-04-01
Features: Combines classical Chinese grammar and cultural knowledge, integrating writing reference and reading exercises. The training is systematic, easier to grasp and expand knowledge compared to the "Reading Aid" compiled 20 years ago. It is richer and more vivid than similar reading materials. The author of this book once compiled "High School Classical Chinese Reading Aid," which was published and distributed nearly 2 million copies, recognized as an excellent supplementary reading material by the language arts community. Now, the author has compiled this book, selecting 250 short, interesting, and enlightening classical Chinese texts, divided into two parts. The upper part is organized by content, including sections such as "Aspiration·Study," "Education·Self-Cultivation," "Talent·Character," "Governing the State·Politics," and "Friendship·Insight." The lower part is organized by genre, including sections such as "Idioms·Allusions," "Fables·Myths," and "Legends·Interesting Stories." At the end of each section, there are short essays introducing practical classical Chinese reading knowledge, such as verbs, adjectives, functional words, common sentence patterns, and fixed sentence patterns. Each short essay is divided into three parts: original text, annotations, and elaboration/application. The third part is particularly outstanding, flexible, and vivid, either explaining difficult words and sentences, teaching ancient cultural knowledge, introducing the application of ancient wisdom in modern life, or providing materials for extended reading. This book can effectively improve students' ability to read classical Chinese and also helps enrich knowledge, broaden horizons, and learn writing. It is suitable for high school students to self-study and can also be used as teaching material by teachers.
