Features: To implement the "Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China," prevent the pollution caused by fuel vapor emissions from heavy-duty vehicles equipped with spark-ignition engines, and improve ambient air quality, this standard has been formulated. This standard specifies the application for type approval, type approval tests, and emission limits for fuel vapor emissions of spark-ignition engines using gasoline and dual-fuel as fuel, for M and N category vehicles with a maximum total mass exceeding 3,500 kg. It also specifies the production consistency inspection methods and emission limits. This standard is revised based on GB14761.3-93 "Emission Standard for Fuel Vapor Emissions of Gasoline Vehicles" and GB14763-93 "Measurement and Collection Method for Fuel Vapor Emissions of Gasoline Vehicles," incorporating some technical contents of GB18352.2-2001. The main differences between this standard and GB14761.3-93 and GB14763-93 are as follows: 1. The scope of application has been adjusted. The emission requirements for fuel vapor emissions of light-duty vehicles have been incorporated into GB18352.2-2001, so the original requirements for light-duty vehicles have been deleted; 2. The content of type approval application, type approval extension, and production consistency inspection has been added; 3. The aging treatment requirements for the canister have been added, and stricter pre-test requirements for the canister have been proposed; 4. The test process has been controlled more strictly; 5. The measurement of operating losses has been canceled. Effective from the date of this standard's issuance, the following standards are repealed in relevant parts: 1. GB14761.3-93 "Emission Standard for Fuel Vapor Emissions of Gasoline Vehicles." 2. GB14763-93 "Measurement and Collection Method for Fuel Vapor Emissions of Gasoline Vehicles." Appendices A, B, C, and D of this standard are part of the standard. This standard was first issued in December 1993 and revised for the time. In accordance with relevant legal provisions, this standard is legally binding. This standard was proposed by the Technology and Standards Department of the State Environmental Protection Administration. The main drafting unit of this standard is the Beijing Automotive Research Institute. This standard was approved by the State Environmental Protection Administration on April 5, 2004. This standard shall come into effect on July 1, 2005. This standard is interpreted by the State Environmental Protection Administration.
