Features: "Organic Chemistry" has removed some of the reference answers to the exercises at the back of the third edition. The Higher Education Press has separately published the "Study Guide for Organic Chemistry" to accompany "Organic Chemistry." Additionally, "Organic Chemistry" is accompanied by teaching materials (CD-ROM). "Organic Chemistry" can be used as a textbook for organic chemistry in chemical engineering, applied chemistry, and related material science programs at universities and colleges, as well as for other relevant disciplines and general readers. This book is part of the National Planning Textbook Project for General Higher Education in the 15th Five-Year Plan and is a result of the "Project for Building 100 Excellent Course Textbooks in Higher Education" by the Higher Education Press (First Category).
Building on the features of the previous three editions, the main changes in this edition are as follows: In terms of structure, it adopts a mixed approach for aliphatic and aromatic compounds, but differs from conventional mixed systems. In terms of content arrangement, the book consists of 20 chapters. In addition to combining alkenes and alkynes into one chapter in the third edition, discussing them based on the reactions they undergo, this edition further combines alkanes and cycloalkanes, unsaturated halogenated hydrocarbons and aromatic halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols and phenols, and ethers and epoxides into separate chapters. are discussed together based on functional groups, while individual characteristics are addressed based on structural features. Two additional chapters on sulfur-, phosphorus-, and silicon-containing organic compounds and lipids have been added. Chapters on cycloalkanes, aromatic halogenated compounds, aromatic sulfonic acids, and organic synthesis have been removed. The book further strengthens the foundation, incorporates practical applications, and appropriately adds new achievements in organic chemistry and related disciplines, enhancing the understanding of functional groups and intermolecular atomic interactions.
