Features: One of the books I loved to read as a child was "Why Do Things Happen?" It opens a door to natural science in children's hearts through its question-and-answer format and simple language. In my erhu teaching, students also ask all kinds of questions—some are common sense, while others make me seriously think about it—after all, "teaching and learning go hand in hand." So, I've always wanted to write an auxiliary learning book in the form of questions and answers for the erhu, apart from general playing tutorials and practice collections. On one hand, it would meet the learning needs of inquisitive readers, and on the other, it would summarize my own thoughts on the erhu. Perhaps it was fate that brought us together—during a casual conversation with the senior editor Zhang Hui of the People's Music Publishing House, we both felt a sense of resonance. He suggested that I compile a "teaching aid" book that targets common problems in erhu learning and is easy to use. This was great encouragement for my existing ideas, so I happily agreed. The world of erhu music is like an endless ocean, and how can its many aspects be fully explained by just 500 questions? Therefore, this book, "500 Questions on Erhu Art and Knowledge," is merely a "pebble to stir the jade."
