Features: In today's digital network era, "email" has become a widely used communication tool. The number of email users in the United States has exceeded millions, gradually replacing traditional correspondence methods such as letters, phone calls, and faxes, becoming the primary means of information exchange. Japan officially entered the email era in 1995. Particularly in business, the penetration of email is even more significant, as many companies now cannot operate without it. Against this backdrop, this book aims to provide a practical guide for writing business English emails. The book is divided into three parts. Additionally, in the preface, the advantages of email are briefly explained.
Part 1 explains the standard format of email and the basic rules and etiquette (netiquette) to be observed when writing emails. The second part is the main section of the book, featuring one hundred practical examples of English business emails (including internal company communications), along with translations and word explanations. The English portion of the example set has been reviewed by two native English speakers. It must be noted in advance that this book treats "English" as an internationally recognized medium of communication, and therefore does not fully adopt the opinions of native English speakers. The third part combines specific examples to explain the basic writing techniques for English email correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
