Features: Public Administration is a science that studies public governance. It is committed to exploring the laws governing the integration of social resources by public sectors centered around the government to effectively manage public affairs. Practice has shown that a democratic, rule-of-law-based, responsible, and high-performing public management system is a necessary condition for political stability, economic development, and social progress in a country, as well as a practical need to address international competition. For this reason, since the 1980s, countries have been reflecting on the shortcomings of traditional government management and conducting large-scale public management reforms, giving rise to a surge in the "renewal movement" in the field of public administration. The abundant nourishment provided by reform practices has, in turn, greatly promoted the development of public administration and made it increasingly valued by scholars and practitioners, emerging as a prominent discipline. Of course, as an emerging discipline, public administration is still in a state of constant change and development. Some argue that this may lead to "confusion" in disciplinary identity, but from another perspective, this may also be a reflection of its vitality and dynamism. This book is a summary and refinement of our extensive teaching practices and a reflection of our understanding of public administration as a discipline and field of knowledge. We have attempted to incorporate the latest achievements in public administration theory and knowledge and provide guidance as much as possible by integrating China's actual public management practices. This book can serve as a textbook for students majoring in public administration disciplines and MPA education, as well as a reference for middle-level managers in public organizations to study public administration theory and practical operational techniques.
