This book is suitable for foreigners learning Chinese and also for Chinese primary and secondary school students who are studying at school. This book is divided into two parts. The first part includes 126 characters, and the second part includes 81 characters. These characters are selected from a practical perspective and reference the "Outline for the Chinese Proficiency Test" compiled by the National Chinese Language Proficiency Test Commission. Common Level A and Level B polyphonic characters are included in the first part, while Level C characters and rarer Level A and Level B characters are included in the second part. For easy reference, this book arranges the different pronunciations of each character together. Under each pronunciation, it lists the common meanings of the character, which include: words, example sentences, pinyin annotations, and English definitions. At the end of each character, there is an exercise. The second part only lists words, pinyin annotations, and English definitions under the meanings.
