Features: The study of medical culture in the Western Regions has long been relatively neglected in China, except for the Dunhuang Tibetan medical documents and three Uyghur medical manuscripts. There remains a significant gap in this field. Interpreting and researching these unearthed medical documents not only helps to continuously clarify the historical presence of this linguistic culture in the Western Regions but also enhances the understanding of the history of Sino-foreign medical cultural relations. Moreover, it is highly beneficial for constructing the social life history of the Western Regions. This book takes the unearthed Central Asian medical documents in foreign languages as a comprehensive research subject, divided into 13 chapters. Except for the preface (Chapter 1, which introduces the research history of unearthed medical documents in the Western Regions) and the conclusion (Chapter 13), the remaining 11 chapters are generally organized around the following three aspects: First, discussing the intrinsic relationships among the multilingual medical documents in the Western Regions. Second, based on the "Eight Divisions of Ayurvedic Medicine." Third, from the perspective of the history of medical exchange.
