Features: Readers who want to improve their Japanese skills should first train their listening skills, using listening to achieve skimming effects, and then repeatedly engage in close reading. Since all Chinese characters are accompanied by hiragana pronunciation, during close reading, you can immediately look up unfamiliar words. Engage your hands, mouth, ears, and eyes. When you use all your senses to follow along—watching, listening, speaking, and thinking—the literature will unconsciously enhance your Japanese proficiency. Once you are familiar with everything, we hope you will be able to narrate the stories in fluent Japanese to others, training yourself and others in the process.
This series of books, published in an audio format, makes it easier for readers to understand Japanese literature. The entire collection features renowned works by Japanese masters such as Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Takeo Arishima, Koshirō Kuma, Kenji Miyazawa, Masao Kusunoki, Shinami Migi, and Kojuro Munakata, accompanied by exquisite illustrations and original Japanese MP3 recordings. These resources guide readers to quickly grasp new methods for learning Japanese.
The book includes 14 stories, such as Spider Silk, Cat Agency, Urashima Tarō, and Grilled Sardines. Most of these selected works are prescribed reading materials for Japanese departments in universities and colleges. We hope that through repeated listening to the MP3s and reading, readers will develop the ability to appreciate literature and improve their Japanese proficiency. This is Taiwan’s first Japanese literature audio book series, and we will invite renowned professors and scholars to hold a series of seminars, allowing interested readers to further explore Japanese literature and gain a deeper understanding of the styles of various masters.
The series will continue to select outstanding Japanese literary works to introduce to readers, and the Japanese Editing Group of Shangze Society will also extend its selection scope to Japanese fantasy literature, ancient myths, and modern literature. Through different works, readers can understand the local customs and cultural contexts of Japan at the time. We believe that this approach to learning Japanese will be both practical and efficient.
