Features: Zi Yi Yuan, styled Zhen Shi San Ren, was born in Fuzhou, Fujian. In his childhood, he often used sand and gravel as paper and reeds as brushes to practice painting. As he grew older, he learned from Ren Boren, Wang Shigu, Ba Da Shanren, and Wu Changshuo. At the age of 15, he established an advertising agency. At 21, he participated in stage design at Shanghai Grand Theater and joined the Shanghai Calligraphy and Painting Association, associating with Zhang Daqian and others, and held his first exhibition. Subsequently, he held solo exhibitions in Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, or co-hosted exhibitions with his brother, Cai Hezhou. After 1949, he first engaged in illustration creation in Shanghai, then moved to Xi'an, where he served as a member of the Art Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Opera Research Institute, established Hong Lie Art Studio, and served as the head of the creative team. He was a member of the China Artists Association, the Standing Committee Member of the Shaanxi Branch of the Artists Association, a member of the Xi'an Municipal Political Consultative Committee, and a member of the Xi'an Municipal People's Congress. He excelled in landscape painting, and in his later years, he often painted flowers, birds, and animals, also being skilled in calligraphy. His works include Chinese paintings such as "Minority Nationalities Touring Huaqing Pool in Lintong," "Walking on the Path of Happiness," and "Summer Harvest in Fanchuan." He has published works such as "Cai Heting Paintings" and "Techniques of Flower and Bamboo Sketching."
