Features: This book was organized and compiled by the National Higher Agricultural and Forestry Vocational Textbook Committee under the leadership of the State Education Commission. During the compilation process, relevant documents such as the training objectives and basic training specifications for vocational students, the basic teaching requirements for the Plant Physiology course, and the teaching plans for various majors in forestry were studied. In line with the spirit of these documents, the outline was drafted by the editor-in-chief according to the requirement of a total of 70-80 teaching hours, with 50-56 hours for lectures and 20-25 hours for experiments. After discussion and revision by the writing team, the division of labor for writing was determined. Plant Physiology is a foundational theoretical discipline that studies the laws of plant life activities. It is a professional basic course for all forestry majors. This textbook strives to explain the basic theories of plant physiology in connection with woody plants and appropriately reflects the development of this discipline. Considering that forestry majors do not offer a Biochemistry course, Chapter is titled "Biochemical Basis of Plant Cells," introducing the chemical composition of plant cells, enzymes, the synthesis and degradation of major organic substances in plant cells, and the membrane systems of plant cells. The conversion and transport of organic substances typically covered in general plant physiology textbooks are distributed to Chapters and Photosynthesis. The remaining content is organized into chapters on metabolic physiology, growth and development physiology, and stress resistance physiology. For ease of learning, each chapter includes a summary and review questions. The book selects and includes 14 experiments, most of which are mandatory experiments.
