Features: In the long history of human development, China, as one of the four ancient civilizations, has achieved remarkable accomplishments in the fields of natural science and engineering technology. The scientific discoveries and technological inventions of the Chinese nation have covered almost all disciplines, particularly the scientific system represented by astronomy, mathematics, agriculture, and medicine, as well as the technological achievements symbolized by the "Four Great Inventions." These have had a profound impact on the course of human history; some have even spread far beyond China, either being directly adopted by people around the world or inspiring them to conduct related research and develop their own inventions. As the ancients said, "A bronze mirror can help one correct their attire; history can reveal the rise and fall." This book selects achievements from ancient Chinese science and technology in fields such as astronomy, the compass, gunpowder, papermaking and printing, bronze casting, ceramics, machinery, textiles, architecture, traditional Chinese medicine, and modern aerospace, energy, water conservancy, life sciences, and high-tech agriculture. It is compiled into the book China's Ancient and Modern Science and Technology in Pictures and Text, presenting a glimpse of the grand panorama of China's technological development with approximately 300,000 words and over 540 images.
