Economic Explanation

Features: This book is a textbook for popularizing the basic principles and knowledge of economics, written for students at A-level or equivalent. In the UK, A-level is high school level, so this book differs from the economics written by famous economists like Samuelson and Stiglitz, who attempt to build their own economic theory systems. Instead, this book draws from various sources, aiming to comprehensively integrate the development of economics and its new advancements. It also has a system, but it is not constructed based on the theories of any single school. This book even includes content on development economics, which is often omitted in Western economics textbooks. It can be said to cover the basic content of contemporary economics, including both microeconomics and macroeconomics, both theoretical and applied economics, as well as both normative and positive economics. Combining the various aspects and theories of economics into a complete system is a challenging task in itself, and this book does it remarkably well.
As a popular textbook, it is characterized by being easy to understand, accessible, progressive, and combining theory with practice, as well as teaching with (inspiring critical thinking). It emphasizes the integration of learning and doing (theoretical learning and practical application). Achieving all this in a single textbook is no easy feat. For instance, explaining economic theories in simple language is not an easy task. Take, for example, how to articulate certain economic concepts or provide precise definitions for economic terms—this is particularly challenging. This book excels in all these aspects.
