Features: A gentle breeze can make dewdrops fall, bringing us a melodious sound; a bright moon can adorn the night sky, allowing us to admire a vivid picture; a vast valley can be filled with a lingering fragrance, enabling us to immerse ourselves in a distant and ethereal realm. This fortune is entirely thanks to our being in modern civilization—only when material wealth reaches a point where it can be freely dispensed with can we take the time to appreciate such extraordinary feelings. Remembering our origins, we should express gratitude to all those who have contributed to the construction of modern material civilization. It is their ingenious ideas and hard work that have changed the course of human history, creating the comfortable and leisurely life we enjoy today. From the inventions and innovations readily available in our daily lives, let us reflect on and cherish the present. For a moment, let your gaze leave the screen for three seconds and look around. Everything you see—the television, telephone, computer, and other household appliances; light bulbs, cameras, jeans, and everyday items—are all products of invention and creation.
At the beginning of the last century, a Western scholar predicted, "Human development has reached its limit, and it will be difficult to make further inventions." Yet soon after, a series of world-changing inventions emerged one after another—jet planes, atomic bombs, and more. At the same time, great discoveries such as the DNA helix structure, neutrons, and black holes were revealed to the world in their true forms. Thus, we firmly believe: the age of invention will never end, and the pace of discovery will never stop. The wheels of history will continue to roll forward, and as we grow alongside the era of civilization, we will hear even more beautiful sounds, admire even more magnificent pictures, and experience even more uplifting scenes.
