Dutch Architecture Annual 2

Author: Royal Institute of Dutch Architecture
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-05-01
Features: Dutch architecture not only boasts its unique formal spaces and masterful use of materials but also possesses a profound intellectual background. This book fully embodies this characteristic. The four review articles in the book present a clear portrayal of the current state of Dutch architecture with extraordinary insight and sharp wit. What is particularly valuable is that all the reviews are based on clear judgments derived from a thorough understanding of the overall social context, which holds positive implications for architectural criticism in our country. As usual, the representative projects included in this annual are selected from the submitted entries. The submitted entries were widely solicited through announcements in various media and by mailing advertisements to many architectural design companies, municipal departments, and developers. Among the approximately 300 unfiltered proposals, the editors selected 60 for on-site visits and ultimately chose 36 to be included in this Annual.
